“To be happy, or not to be happy, that is the question.”
Being happy is not an easy state of being for many of us to achieve. And we are told by self-help gurus and well-intentioned friends and family members that you cannot try to become happier because it is not a destination, it is a state of “being.” Although it is not so clear how to “Be,” it does appear to have something to do with peace, quiet of mind as well as the ever-important feeling of gratitude for who you are and for people and things in your life. They often go on to say that happiness is not something you can pursue, even though the pursuit of it was vouched for in that American document from years ago.
But Let Us Look at the Context of this Moment in Time
We live in a world in which Americans and our allies are currently trapped in a country they do not want to be, as well as there are fires out of control in the U.S., storms, hurricanes, flooding and the Covid Variant Delta. And in two short days it will be the anniversary of one of the most horrific events ever both in actuality as well as symbolically, and one of great loss. Our hearts, thoughts and prayers to all the families and friends who have lost loved ones. And for those who are worried about the present and the future.
Not at this Time
This is not the right time for some messages but is spot on for the content of of communications. We ask that today and over the next few days that you tell the ones you love that you do, as well as pass along your own unique message of hope and compassion to as many people as you can.
In Closing
As you can see, what started out as us revealing a way we are working on to combine marketing with happiness, how not to pursue it but that it is a state of mind you do not consciously search for but picks when it will come to you. The choice to change the focus of this post midway, has made me for one, more happy.
